IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of the Holiday Inn Express Krabi Ao Nang, a 158-room conversion property that will expand the company’s footprint in one of Thailand’s major leisure destinations.
The hotel is scheduled to open by the end of 2026 following a rebranding process. The agreement strengthens a long-standing partnership with owner Chok Deesuk Co., Ltd., which also operates the nearby Holiday Inn Resort Krabi Ao Nang Beach.
The conversion reflects a broader trend in the Thai hospitality market, where conversion signings represented nearly 40% of signed keys in 2025. This growth highlights increasing interest among property owners in utilizing IHG’s global distribution channels and loyalty programs.
The property will be the first Holiday Inn Express in Thailand to feature the brand’s Generation 5 design, making it the second such implementation in Southeast Asia. The design focuses on creating flexible, intuitive social spaces intended to help travelers work, connect, and unwind.
Located in the Ao Nang tourism hub, the hotel is situated approximately 1 kilometer from Ao Nang Beach and roughly 40 minutes from Krabi International Airport. Planned amenities include a swimming pool, a fitness center, an all-day dining restaurant, and a pool bar.
With this new signing, IHG continues to grow its presence in Thailand. The company currently operates 42 hotels across 11 brands in the country, with 39 additional properties currently in its development pipeline.
