Bank of America is directing $250,000 in philanthropic capital to the American Red Cross to support relief and recovery efforts for communities impacted by wildfires across the Pacific Northwest and western mountain states.
The funding is intended to help families, businesses, and individuals by providing emergency shelter, meals, supplies, and other critical assistance. The scope of the relief efforts includes impact areas in Washington, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, and Utah, including the regions surrounding Spokane.
In addition to the corporate donation, Bank of America is matching employee contributions to eligible nonprofit organizations providing disaster relief on a dollar-for-dollar basis. The company is also providing assistance to its own staff members affected by the wildfires through its Employee Assistance Program.
The bank maintains a significant presence in Washington, employing more than 2,000 people statewide, including 330 employees who live and work in the greater Spokane region. Despite the ongoing wildfire activity, all Bank of America financial centers in the Spokane market remain open to serve clients during the response and recovery period.
